This is a great item for the nostalgia/movie buff. Did you ever think that Eastman Kodak would be a brand name relegated to the past? Just like - I'm sure - folks filming their vacations on 8mm movie film would never have thought that home movie cameras would be built into everyone's personal telephones. My how times have changed.
I love the looks of this machine. It's from the early '30s and features all metal construction with that "old-timey" crackle finish. I plugged this in and found it to be working(ish) although the motor could stand some lubrication and the light-box could use a thorough clean-out to reduce the fire hazard.
I can't imagine anyone is looking for one of these to view home movies on and if you are I suggest you look at some of the more modern options. This is great as a work of art in my estimation and I can envision several project angles one could take to turn this into some sort of lamp/nite-lite using LEDs or low voltage lighting... I leave that to your imagination.
I think something this awesome should be worth far more money but there are several out there so I better just price this one to move...
